What deserves to be remembered in your neighborhood?

(Un)Set In Stone is a community art monument

In fall of 2025, we invited people to reimagine how we honor our shared history. Shaped like a traditional obelisk but coated in chalkboard, this monument traveled to events in Montgomery, prompting people like you to draw and imagine what should be remembered in your neighborhood. This project served as a portal for civic reimagination , and how we, as a city, can build public spaces and memorials with more community input in mind.
